249 East St. For sale at government auction.
Two years ago this house was empty and at least two large oak fireplace mantels where striped and stolen from the first floor. This house has or had i haven't seen the interior in two years oak mantels, doors, floors, heavy trim and wains coating. The last occupants of this property where into illegal activity and they did nothing to maintain this once beautifully home so it's present condition is not known.I would like to see what is under this siding i am sure there is a lot of detail covered. If any potential owner occupants are interested in this property or more pictures of this house let me know and i will see what i can find out. There is a lot of potential for this property as it sits on a nice smaller side street it offers a yard a driveway and a garage. B.R.A

This house has been removed from the Auction site with no other information. There was a fair amount of interest in it.

I was in 249 East a year and a half ago when contractors were rehabing it for the last owners. All the waincotting in the dining room and foyer and the curved window seats in both turret rooms were still entact. At the time the contractors were putting in an incredible $50,000 kitchen complete with granite countertops and stanless steel built in appliances. I was trying to get someone interested in the auction and made an appointment to view the property and then it was removed from the auction without explanation. Marsha Huard
